About the Role
As a Contracts Performance Data Scientist you will lead large‑scale data analysis and drive contract performance monitoring activities. You will collaborate across the NESO and manage stakeholders to collect information, review performance and deliver insights to support decision making. Your role combines data analysis, project management, risk, governance and the development of tools and guidance.
Location: Wokingham, Warwick, Glasgow or hybrid working from office and home. Flexible full‑time or part‑time arrangements are available.
Key Accountabilities
* Develop key criteria to support performance assessment.
* Inform strategies through analysis and insight.
* Make and recommend performance monitoring decisions based on data analysis.
* Automate processes to increase efficiency and accuracy, ensuring consistent application of methods and standards.
* Engage and lead stakeholder discussions, producing and presenting dashboards and reports.
* Develop technical and commercial guidance within the business.
* Lead or support the development of internal and IT tools within Market Services.
* Provide effective data analysis, project management, assurance, risk management and governance as required.
About You
* Logical, creative and practical problem‑solving skills.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to convey complex information to internal and external stakeholders.
* Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and coding languages such as Python and SQL.
* Appreciation for the energy industry; knowledge of power systems engineering is beneficial but not essential.
* Understanding of system interactions and whole‑system operability.
* Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
What You’ll Get
Salary: £54,000 – £64,000, dependent on experience and capability.
