We’relooking for a motivating superstore manager to join Cancer Research UK’s trading team.You’llbe acting as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK, motivating your team to maximise on sales and fundraising targets. What will I be doing?
1. Guiding,inspiringand engaging a team of paid staff and volunteers. This includes recruitment,retentionand development of a diversesuperstoreteam.
2. Taking ownership and responsibility forthecommercial running of yoursuperstore including display and merchandising, stock managementand generation,maintainingshop standards, store layout,salesand income.
3. Leading by example and providing excellent customer and supporter service.
4. Maximising profit through effective cost control and sales.
5. Working to agreed targets for donated stock, cash, benchmark gift aid, average selling price, sell through and stock processing.
6. Creating relationships with your local community and Cancer Research UK colleaguesto generatecommunity engagement andadditionalincome and stock.
7. Oversee the movement and distribution of large volumes of donationsincluding across other Cancer Research UK shops,superstoresand eCommerce.
8. Organising and running creative fundraising events for your store to achieve fundraising targets.
9. Maintaining compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security,administrationand HR policies.
10. There will be a varied amount of manual handling and physical activityrequiredwithin the day-to-day duties of the role.
Whatare you looking for?
11. Commercial awareness withprevioussuccessworking with sales and profit targets.
12. Experience of managing and inspiring alarge anddiverse team of people.
13. Comfort working within targets and motivating others to achieve those targets.
14. The ability to multi-task in a livelyhigh volume retailenvironmentwith large volumes of stock.
15. Adaptability in changing situations, including being able to work effectively independently.
16. Creativity and a desire to seek out opportunities fornew andinnovative ways of working.
17. Flexibility, our retail teams cover the needs of their stores by working on a rota basis. Whilst a level of flexibility is needed to meet the needs of the business, wedon’tforget that you have a life outside of work too.

To support your training and development in this role, you will spend 4 weeks in a training shop, learning from a Training Shop Manager, this may be at a different location to the role you applied for.
