Senior Engagement Consultant – Local Government Team
Location: Exeter, Bristol, Southampton or Taunton. This role supports senior local government projects across the UK, focusing on community engagement, stakeholder management, and public consultation.
You Will Do This By
* Helping communities and stakeholders understand projects and how they may impact them by writing clear, easy‑to‑understand communications.
* Giving people opportunities to ask questions and provide feedback through published communications, events and surveys.
* Presenting feedback to help projects develop responsibly by analysing data and reporting key themes.
* Providing communication and engagement advice to clients, and delivering activities such as virtual consultation rooms, posters, banners, public maps and engagement events.
* Engaging with clients, their leaders and members.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
* Experience in local government, highways, rail, utilities, water, environment or energy sectors.
* Leading engagement processes across multidisciplinary projects, including drafting stakeholder strategies, conducting consultations, data coding and analysis, and report writing to meet legislative requirements.
* Line‑management experience or managing junior team members through project delivery.
* Strong teamwork, enthusiastic and motivated attitude.
* Well‑organised and structured delivery of tasks with flexibility in a demanding, fast‑changing environment.
* Enthusiasm for growing a career in communication and engagement.
* Experience with Common Place tool (desirable).
