An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our clinical pharmacy team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the safe, timely and efficient supply of medicines across all wards and departments, contributing to high quality patient care and the smooth running of clinical services.

Main Duties of the Job
As a Medicines Management Assistant, you will work directly at ward level playing a vital part in ensuring patients receive their medicines safely and on time. Your role will be varied, including assessing patients' own medications for suitability, transferring medicines as patients move between wards, supporting efficient and timely patient discharges and ordering patient‑specific medicines. Through your work, you will help minimise missed doses and contribute directly to excellent patient care.
You must have excellent communication with strong interpersonal skills, be well organised and able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced clinical environment. You will be confident working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, adaptable to changing demands and able to work accurately under pressure. You will be committed to delivering a high‑quality, patient‑focused service and making a positive difference to patients' experience.

The Medicines Management Assistant role will support the pharmacy ward teams with the principles and implementation of medicines optimisation.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* 4 GCSEs or equivalent – must include Maths, English and Science at grade 4 or above or equivalent
* NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services OR equivalent relevant qualification to area of speciality AND willingness to work towards NVQ L2 in pharmacy services
Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
* At least 1 year’s experience in a similar role
* Experience of using computer systems including Microsoft applications
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work accurately and under pressure
* Ability to deal confidently and directly with all members of healthcare teams and members of the public
* Ability to lead and supervise other members of the team, prioritising and allocating work and ensuring rotas are complied with
* Able to investigate and resolve queries, liaising appropriately with technicians and pharmacists
* Good organisational skills
* Previous experience of dealing with customers and difficult queries

Wages
£25,760 to £27,476 a year, pro rata
