Overview

Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Dorset. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN / SEND, and other needs such as SEMH. We support children with MLD and SLD. This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who prefer 1:1 tutoring in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed setting to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

Targeted Provision aims to raise the standard of educational support for vulnerable young people in the UK. You will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists and will join a child-centred company committed to improving support for vulnerable learners.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role

* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Support is provided through referrals from local authorities and schools, with emphasis on educational and social-emotional development
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring


SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities

* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Deliver holistic, engaging sessions that meet needs and advance educational and social-emotional progress
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress


SEN / SEND Tutor requirements

* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost)
* Two professional references
* UK based with right to work in the UK, including for remote work

It is a strict requirement that you promote health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies at all times.


Employment Status

* This position involves engaging with us as a Worker to provide short-term engagements as they arise
* You will work through a contract for service and be paid via PAYE
* We do not offer a set amount of work or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring / self-employed teaching position
