We’re looking for an enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bournemouth (BH8). You’ll be working alongside the class teacher and EYFS team to create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment where every child can thrive. Key Responsibilities Support the delivery of high-quality early years education in line with the EYFS framework. Assist in planning and leading fun, interactive, and purposeful activities. Provide 1:1 and small group support, including for children with additional needs. Observe and record children’s progress, contributing to assessment and planning. Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing. Help with personal care when required (e.g., toileting, changing). Ensure a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all learners. Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and carers to support every child’s development. Person Specification Essential: Relevant childcare or education qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ or equivalent). Previous experience working with young children in an educational or care setting. Good knowledge of the EYFS framework. Strong communication skills and a caring, patient approach. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Desirable: Paediatric First Aid qualification. Experience supporting children with SEND. Understanding of observation and assessment in EYFS.
