We are seeking to appoint an Associate Non-Executive Director to address specific skills gaps and to support succession planning. We are therefore looking for an individual interested in such a role and who has the skills and experience described below.
As a non-voting Associate Non-Executive of the NLaG board, the successful candidate would be involved in setting and driving the Trust's strategic direction, monitoring operational performance and programmes of work, and ensuring the Trust fulfils its statutory responsibilities. This is a key role in improving performance and promoting the highest standards of quality, performance, and governance.
The successful candidate will work with Executive and Non-Executive Director colleagues to oversee, challenge, and gain assurance on key performance and risk issues.
The ideal candidate will have strong influencing skills, the ability to hold others to account, and appropriate senior management experience within private, public, or third sector organizations. Experience of partnership engagement and communication is also desirable.
Responsibilities include:
1. Supporting the development of the vision, strategy, and objectives for the Trust / Group.
2. Supporting the development of the culture & values for the Trust / Group.
3. Holding the Executives to account for delivery of the Trust / Group objectives and priorities by providing purposeful, constructive scrutiny and challenge.
4. Ensuring effective risk management in accordance with the Trust's risk strategy and appetite.
5. Promoting and championing high-quality care in all services.
6. Supporting governance and stewardship alongside the Group Chair, Group Chief Executive, and Group Executive Directors.
7. Participating in activities where external and independent perspectives are valuable.
8. Working with the NLaG Council of Governors to promote public sector values and good corporate governance.
9. Participating in processes related to appointment, remuneration, and succession planning of executives.
10. Attending and contributing to bi-monthly Board meetings, quarterly Governor meetings, and other committee and development activities.
Candidates should ideally reside within North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire, Goole & Howdenshire, East & West Lindsey, or the whole of Lincolnshire. Applicants outside these areas are ineligible.
Applicants must become members of the NLaG Foundation Trust, which is a requirement upon appointment. Appointment is subject to ratification by the Council of Governors.
