Spire Murrayfield Hospital is looking to recruit a Theatre Porter to join their fantastic Theatre team on a bank basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Correctly undertake tasks that have been delegated in relation to specific patients as agreed with the care team
2. Prepare patient, equipment and materials appropriately
3. Obtain consent from patients before starting the tasks. moving and handling, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times
4. Moving patient from bed to trolley; trolley to operating table; operating table to trolley; trolley to bed
5. Identify and report to an appropriate person any significant changes that might affect the patient’s health and well-being during escort duties and moving/handling
6. Respect patients’ privacy, dignity, wishes and beliefs and minimise any necessary discomfort
7. Record information related to designated tasks and activities accurately and passes it on to the relevant person in the team on time
8. Liaise with the theatre team regarding the organisation of theatre lists
9. Provide patient support within the anaesthetic room
10. Ensure moving and handling equipment is clean and in safe working order
11. Ensure table attachments are clean and in working order
12. Transport safely and timely specimens from theatre to the designated area, recording legibly and accurately necessary details
13. Transport equipment as delegated by the theatre team
