New opportunities have arisen at London Road Surgery for two qualified clinical pharmacists to join our busy practice in Wickford. These are new roles and sit outside of the ARRS. The positions will be offered on a full or part-time basis as we need to achieve 1.28 WTE. Working alongside our experienced clinicians, the main responsibilities of the role include: Providing specialist expertise in the use of medicines and medicine information (i.e. side-effects, dosage) across the practice Providing pharmaceutical medication reviews, reauthorisations and SMR’s Assisting with person-centred medicines optimisation and quality improvement. Attendance at weekly clinical meetings Processing hospital medication discharge letters and specialist treatment letters Acting as a key contact in the practice, for all medication related queries Supporting improvements in clinical care, through practice-based audits and implementing change About the Candidate To be considered for this position, you have the following skills and qualifications: Qualified pharmacist, current registration with General Pharmaceutical Council Confident in use of electronic records and systems; databases and spreadsheets NMP – not essential Diploma in clinical pharmacy or pharmacy practice Evidence of consistent pattern of learning from education, training and experience Ability to demonstrate general pharmaceutical skills and knowledge in core areas Self-motivated with excellent communication skills Understand the need for patient confidentiality About Us London Road Surgery has 14,400 patients and we have modern well-equipped premises, built in 2017, offering an excellent working environment with free car parking. We are close to Wickford High Street and Wickford Station. We have a 'Good' rating from the recent CQC Inspection in October 2021, and we participate in pilots to enhance patient care. We moved to total triage in June 2025.
