A leading construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to support business unit directors in delivering commercial objectives across a varied client portfolio. This Building Surveyor role offers the opportunity to manage building surveying commissions and construction projects from feasibility through to completion. The Building Surveyor will be based in Birmingham and will work across commercial, residential and public sector projects, delivering building surveying services to a high professional standard.

The Role
As the Building Surveyor, you will support directors in delivering projects and business objectives while managing client relationships and service delivery.
The role will include:
* Managing building surveying commissions including surveys, dilapidations, party wall matters and construction projects
* Delivering new build, refurbishment and maintenance projects from feasibility, design and contract administration through to handover and post-completion
* Managing design teams and sub-consultants in line with business procedures
* Planning service delivery with directors and agreeing project resources
* Providing professional advice to clients and project team members
* Administering construction contracts as Contract Administrator and Employer's Agent
* Monitoring quality and financial performance of projects
* Producing reports, presentations and project documentation
* Preparing bids and managing service delivery for profit
* Identifying business development opportunities and supporting growth
The Building Surveyor?
You will be a capable and commercially aware Building Surveyor with experience delivering building surveying services across multiple sectors.
The Building Surveyor must have:
* Proven post-qualification experience in Building Surveying
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and procurement strategies
* Experience administering construction contracts
* Understanding of legislation impacting building contracts
* Ability to manage multiple commissions and adapt to changing priorities
* Clear written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organisational, financial and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work within and lead multidisciplinary teams
* Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
