Sectora Group has been exclusively retained on behalf of a fast-growing, founder-led business operating in the renewable energy and infrastructure sector, which has recently secured a privately backed national government project.
Following the award of a significant privately backed government framework, the business is entering a major scale-up phase and building a national operational platform capable of delivering energy-efficiency and renewable installation programmes at substantial volume across the UK.
As part of this growth journey, we are seeking an exceptional Group Operations Director to help shape, build and lead the operational infrastructure behind the next phase of expansion.
This is not a steady-state operational leadership role.
This is an opportunity to design and implement the operating model of a rapidly scaling business, building the structures, processes, governance and delivery capability required to support a national rollout across multiple regions.
For the right individual, there is clear potential for this role to evolve into a future COO or broader executive leadership position as the organisation continues to grow.
The Opportunity
The Group Operations Director will hold overall accountability for operational delivery across a growing national programme, including the future rollout of a franchise-led operating model.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
• Designing and implementing scalable operational infrastructure capable of supporting national growth
• Building operational processes, governance frameworks and reporting structures across multiple delivery streams
• Leading high-volume field operations within customer-occupied environments
• Driving profitability, accountability, delivery quality and operational performance
• Creating consistency across employed teams, subcontractors and future franchise partners
• Developing an operating model capable of scaling efficiently without compromising customer experience or quality standards
• Leading and developing operational teams across projects, delivery and support functions
• Working closely with commercial, finance and leadership teams to align operational performance with wider business objectives
• Driving continuous improvement across systems, reporting, scheduling and operational delivery
This role requires an individual capable of operating strategically while remaining close enough to the detail to build credibility across all levels of the business.
Candidate Profile
We are open to candidates from a broad range of sectors and operational environments.
While experience within renewable energy, retrofit or construction would be advantageous, we are equally interested in individuals who have successfully led operational delivery at scale within complex, field-based or infrastructure-led environments.
Relevant backgrounds may include:
• Major infrastructure projects
• Rail and transport programmes
• Utilities and regulated services
• National installation or field-service operations
• Property services and facilities management
• Multi-site operational businesses
• Franchise or distributed delivery models
• Complex programme delivery environments
The successful individual will likely bring:
• 10–15+ years’ operational leadership experience
• A proven track record of delivering operational programmes at scale
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P&L responsibility
• Experience building scalable operational processes, systems and governance structures
• The ability to lead effectively within fast-paced, evolving and ambiguous environments
• A direct, decisive and accountable leadership style
• High personal standards and a strong focus on customer experience and operational excellence
• The credibility to influence across operational, commercial and leadership teams
This opportunity will suit an ambitious operational leader who wants to play a defining role in scaling a business nationally, rather than inheriting an already mature corporate structure.
Package
An excellent executive package is available, including:
• Competitive base salary
• Performance-related bonus
• Equity participation
• Company vehicle / allowance
• Relocation support if required
Package will be aligned to the calibre and experience of the successful individual.
