Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant and kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. This role involves overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The Assistant Manager will play a vital part in creating a welcoming environment for guests while supporting the management team in achieving business objectives.
Duties
* Assist in managing daily restaurant or hotel operations, ensuring smooth workflow and excellent customer service
* Supervise and motivate team members, including front-of-house and kitchen staff, to deliver outstanding hospitality experiences
* Oversee food preparation, cooking, and food production processes to maintain quality standards
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health & safety policies across all areas of the establishment
* Coordinate staff scheduling, training programmes, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated and efficient team
* Handle guest enquiries, complaints, and special requests with professionalism and tact
* Support in inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels
* Assist in organising promotional events or special functions to enhance guest engagement
* Uphold high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation within the premises
Skills
* Proven experience in supervising within a restaurant or hospitality environment, ideally with culinary expertise
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation and kitchen management
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a positive working environment
* Competence in food production, cooking techniques, and general kitchen experience
* Experience in serving guests with professionalism and courtesy in hospitality settings such as restaurants or hotels
* Demonstrated ability to oversee food safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations
* Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
* Previous experience in hospitality management roles such as restaurant supervisor or barista supervisor is advantageous
* Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and guests alike
