This is a pivotal role within our Safety function, leading the application of EMR’s Safety Validation and change management processes. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining the company’s Safety Risk Profile, ensuring that changes to our Safety Management System (SMS) are effectively communicated and embedded across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the application of Safety Validation and change management processes and tools to support adoption of required project and organisational changes.
2. Represent EMR at industry and internal meetings regarding safety validation and change impacts.
3. Oversee post-Safety Validation assurance activities and ensure continual improvement in risk management.
4. Manage and update the EMR Safety Risk Profile, incorporating insights from performance, audit, and assurance activities.
5. Develop and deliver engagement and communication strategies to support SMS changes.
6. Line manage the Safety Change Business Partners.
7. Act as the EMR contact for Network Rail on infrastructure changes requiring risk transfer or Safety Validation.
8. Represent EMR at the Risk and Safety Intelligence Programme Advisory Group (RSI PAG).
About You
9. We’re looking for a confident and collaborative professional with:
10. A strong understanding of Safety Validation and HSSE change processes.
11. A Level 6 Occupational Health and Safety qualification (or equivalent experience).
12. Proven experience in change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
13. Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
14. Familiarity with project management approaches and the project lifecycle.
15. Experience of HAZID processes and facilitation.
16. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills, with the ability to drive outcomes collaboratively.
