About Oxford BioTherapeutics Oxford BioTherapeutics (OBT) is a dynamic, growing, international biotechnology company based in Oxford, UK, and San Jose, CA. We are a clinical stage oncology company with a pipeline of immunooncology and antibody-drug conjugate-based therapies. OBT's IO discovery process provides unique insight into the cancer-immune cell synapse and has identified several novel IO candidates for cancer therapy. Discovery of novel tumor antigens and immune cell surface proteins at OBT is performed using the proprietary Oxford Genome Anatomy Project (OGAP®) database. OBT currently has one ADC in phase 1b clinical trials in collaboration with Menarini. For further information, please see www.oxfordbiotherapeutics.com We are looking for a Research Associate In Silico to join our Oxford-based team as part of the OBT UK Target Discovery Bioinformatics team. Purpose of the Role In this role, you will support the discovery, investigation, and presentation of therapeutic cancer targets using bioinformatics-based approaches. Training will be provided as needed. This position would be ideal for a bioinformatics graduate with an interest in cancer biology and/or mass spectrometry-based proteomics. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with bioinformatic pipeline including: Researching and annotating proteins of interest from internal and public resources. Assist with several routine bioinformatics tasks to support business development, target discovery and US labs. Work with the wider bioinformatics team to help Implement ad-hoc tasks for business development, target discovery and US teams where appropriate. Creating and developing new and existing bioinformatic tools Analysing, summarising and presenting of data Assist with any other function areas as needed Please note the roles and responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to the above. Knowledge, Experience, and Skills: Good knowledge of programming and an interest in developing these skills (e.g. Python, R). Masters degree from a computational or biological related course (e.g. biology, bioinformatics, computer science, etc.) Experience reading and summarising scientific literature Basic knowledge of proteomics and cancer biology beneficial but not essential Good written and spoken English Familiarity with Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Good knowledge of statistics and an interest in developing these skills We’re looking for someone who embodies a scientific mindset and is eager to adapt and grow.
