An established company based in Mansfield, that is continuing to grow year on year, are looking for an experienced Buyer to join their team.
As the Buyer, you will play an integral role in a fast-paced environment.
Reporting to the Buying Manager your duties will include:
1. Providing prices for all materials included in project plans and drawings
2. Procured groundworks materials including aggregates, asphalt, steel, drainage, and insulation
3. Identifying potential suppliers and new products
4. Contacting a range of suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain quotations and agree delivery times
5. Keeping detailed records and maintaining a well-organised work schedule
6. Assessing the reliability of sub-contractors and suppliers
7. Dealing effectively with challenges with suppliers and the flow of materials
8. Ensuring compliance with the safety, health and environment requirements of materials and services
9. Providing advice to the project estimator on the predicted cost of individual items
10. Liaising closely with the estimator at the tendering stage to ensure that an accurate project cost is provided
11. Preparing and maintaining cost reports in order to maximise efficiency within the business
