Overview
This post within City and Hackney CAMHS will be providing services to young people and their families 5 days a week over a 12-month period to cover maternity leave. This is a community based post, located within the Adolescent Mental Health Team (AMHT) offering therapeutic work to families with specific emphasis on adolescents with complex and severe mental health problems.
The post holder will be able to offer flexible, evidence-based care including a range of assessments and treatments such as individual, parenting, family work and group based intervention, as well as specialist advice/consultation and liaison with other agencies.
Responsibilities
* Specialist and experienced clinician with substantial knowledge of the field of child and adolescent mental health.
* Demonstrate strong engagement skills, work creatively with severe mental illnesses (including psychosis) and with young people at risk of inpatient admission.
* Work effectively with complex multi-agency networks, including inpatient adolescent units.
* Contribute to the positive working environment within the multi-disciplinary team.
* Directly contribute to service development and quality improvement through appraisal and audit.
* Support risk management and, where applicable, experience of working with young people at risk of inpatient admission and in schools, children’s social care and adolescent inpatient units.
Qualifications and Experience
* High degree of professional autonomy with ability to account for professional practice through appraisal and audit.
* Experience of working with young people at risk of inpatient admission, risk management, and experience consulting in schools, children’s social care and adolescent inpatient units is highly desirable.
