We are assisting an established manufacturing business with the recruitment of a Procurement & Supply Chain Manager. This is an on-site role Monday – Friday (flexible working hours). Reporting into the Operations Director the role will have full responsibility for the Procurement / Purchasing and Supply Chain functions, including all day-to-day management and leadership. Main duties and responsibilities will include; * Lead and manage the Procurement and Supply Chain functions for the business, reporting into the Operations Director * Responsibility for the purchasing for the business – c4 million direct spend (UK and International), including creating the strategy while also delivering on it. * Manage the Supply Chain & Procurement team to ensure staff performance is in line with business performance. * Conduct contract reviews to manage performance of key suppliers, and develop new relationships with suppliers * Develop and manage a set of Key Performance Indicators for the procurement function, based on business performance, cost savings, materials and efficiencies throughout the process * Negotiate with existing suppliers and identify new suppliers where appropriate to optimise material costs * Negotiate with logistics providers to improve cost efficiency and service quality * Source and manage the introduction of packaging solutions to ensure safe and effective delivery of goods * Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement * Drive supplier base optimisation through rationalisation, strategic sourcing, and structured onboarding of new suppliers * Contribute to Make vs. Buy decisions through data-driven analysis and recommendations. * Enhance purchased material planning processes to improve cross-functional alignment with production and sales objectives * Ensure compliance with customer import and export requirements * Improve the overall supply chain performance and look for any possible innovations to the process * Maintain accurate and sufficient stock levels to support production and sales, while optimizing inventory costs, including implementing and maintaining robust controls to improve stock accuracy * Working with Manufacturing Manager to maximize efficiency in storage and rack utilization * Manage facilities and building maintenance using both internal teams and external contractors to ensure operational reliability For this role it is essential that candidates have proven experience at this level and ideally hold or are working towards CIPS (or equivalent). It would be an advantage if candidates are from a manufacturing, engineering or similar procurement and supply chain background, although this isn’t essential. Strong purchasing and management of the full supply chain function is essential, with rounded operational experience advantageous.
