Job description
As an Intelligence Officer you will be expected to undertake the following tasks:
* Undertake an investigative role - by gathering information within ethical guidelines and best practice standards and in accordance with the relevant legislation, to meet operational objectives
* Build and maintain a network of internal and external partners – to respond to requests for information and intelligence exchange
* Develop relationships and understanding of work streams with colleagues and team members, to further operational awareness of roles and to support partnership working
* Maintain information on the intelligence system
* Facilitate information and intelligence sharing to relevant parties - in line with confidentiality, sensitivity and duty of care policies and relevant legislation - to achieve shared objectives with our internal and external partners
* Make effective decisions, evaluate and share intelligence to drive operational activity
* Provide recommendations on how threats can be resolved
Person specification
We’re looking for individuals with practical experience of:
* Research Skill, gathering information from a wide range of sources with an eye for detail
* Problem solving skills thinking outside the box
* Writing, drafting and good presentation skills
* Experience on Microsoft apps especially Excel and Word
* Developing relationships with stakeholders
* Being able to work alone and part of a team
And who also have:
* Great communication skills – in both verbal and written communication
* Confidence in using information to make informed decisions
* The ability to be adaptable and flexible in line with workloads
To be eligible for this role you also need to meet our Nationality requirements which are outlined below and also successful candidates must meet the security requirements for Security Clearance (SC) before they can be appointed. To gain (SC) you will need to have been a UK resident for a minimum of 3 years out of the last 5 years.
