Purchasing Job description
Full-time, Permanent
£25,000-£50,000.00 per year
Schedule:
* Day shift
* Monday to Friday
* No weekends
Licence/Certification:
* Driving Licence (preferred)
Work Location: Office based-Kidderminster.
Duties;
* Seek out high quality ingredients/ products to ensure our customers needs are met.
* Works well to deadlines and is organised.
* Communicates well with other members of the team and keeps them up to date with any cost changes.
* Efficient in meeting the demand of price enquiries from the sales team.
* Identify and develop relationships with new and existing suppliers.
* Looks for ways the company can save money/cut expenses.
* Monitors stock levels
* Keeps up to date with market changes and negotiates with supplies to ensure APT gets the best deal.
* Can use computers to put purchase orders on using sage 200 (sage training available)
* Has industry knowledge to know which suppliers are most reliable and reasonably priced.
· Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives.
· Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.
Requirements;
* Someone who has purchasing experience for at least 2 years.
* Good interpersonal skills – able to build and manage relationships with colleagues and suppliers, communication is key at all times
* IT skills when using outlook, sage and act (training is available)
* Able to fully understand customer needs and demands (e.g. price, quality, availability)
* Strong time management skills
* Works well in a team environment
