Overview
We are seeking senior house officer grade doctors to join our team at St Mary’s Hospital Emergency Department as junior clinical fellows. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a Central London major trauma centre in a renowned university teaching hospital with an acclaimed research team.
Post Details
This is a six‑month fixed‑term post, commencing in August 2026, with the possibility to extend or rotate into another specialty. The post holder will allocate 2 hours of protected non‑clinical time per week on a fixed‑rota working pattern.
Responsibilities
* Full shift pattern, including early, late, night and out‑of‑hours work.
* 24‑hour cover with a 1‑in‑3 weekend commitment, supported by ED consultants (0800‑2400) and remotely (0000‑0800).
* Participate in weekly departmental teaching, trauma governance meetings and monthly ED governance meetings.
* Complete work‑based assessments, audit, quality improvement projects and research projects.
* Engage with full teaching programme and collaborate with a consultant clinical and educational supervisor.
Qualifications and Eligibility
* Senior house officer grade or equivalent.
* Fully registered with the GMC.
* Suitable as a stand‑alone experience or in combination with other trust grade JCF posts (e.g. Major Trauma).
* Candidates holding a national training number seeking an out‑of‑programme experience (OOPE) are encouraged to apply.
