Job Description: Senior LMS Administrator
Location - Remote (Must already be UK based to be considered)
Are you an experienced Learning Management System (LMS) specialist with a passion for digital learning and platform innovation? This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead on a national training provider’s award-winning LMS platform, supporting thousands of users across the UK.
The Role
We’re looking for a Senior LMS Administrator to oversee the ongoing development, optimisation, and daily management of a large-scale LMS powered by Moodle Workplace. This platform currently supports over 25,000 users and continues to grow as a central pillar of the organisation’s digital learning strategy.
You’ll be the subject matter expert for all things LMS – from backend configuration and content management to user support and system integration. This role plays a vital part in enhancing the learner and staff experience while driving innovation in digital training delivery.
What you'll be doing?
Lead the day-to-day operation, configuration, and maintenance of the LMS
Manage platform setup, enrolment workflows, roles/permissions, and plugins
Provide first-line support for internal teams, including trainers and assessors
Deliver onboarding and training materials to support user engagement
Maintain and structure learning content (e.g. SCORM, H5P, CPD modules)
Monitor data/reporting to track learner engagement and platform performance
Collaborate with digital and curriculum leads to inform strategy and reporting (e.g. via Power BI)
Ensure compliance with data protection (GDPR), accessibility, and internal standards
Stay up to date with EdTech trends and LMS innovation
What we're looking for?
Strong experience managing LMS platforms, ideally Moodle or Moodle Workplace
Confidence using learning standards such as SCORM, LTI, xAPI
Experience with HTML/CSS for platform customisation
A solid grasp of eLearning tools like H5P, Articulate or Evolve
A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving and user engagement
Ability to manage competing deadlines while ensuring platform reliability
It would be great if you also have:
Experience in apprenticeship or vocational training environments
Familiarity with Power BI or similar dashboard/reporting tools
Understanding of accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG 2.2) and digital quality frameworks
Any professional digital learning accreditations (e.g. CMALT, Digital Learning Institute)
