You will be working with higher education students to provide strategies to develop their skills in managing the impact of conditions or impairments on their academic experience. Responsibilities include helping students manage anxiety, develop concentration, time management, workload prioritization, and work-life balance. Additionally, you will support skills in acquiring, recalling, and retaining information in written and spoken language, as well as strategies to improve memory, organization, attention, and numeracy skills.
Required training includes:
1. Six NAS online training modules:
o Understanding autism
o Autism and communication
o Autism and sensory experience
o Autism, stress and anxiety
o Autism: supporting families
o Autism and Girls
2. Optimum Student Support training course: Autism and ADHD in Higher Education: Recognising and addressing barriers through Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Mentoring and Study Skills Strategies
If you possess a relevant postgraduate qualification, such as a PGCert or Masters in Autism, completion of the NAS Autism and Girls online training module is still required.
Applicants should have experience in a similar role within the last five years and an understanding of the impact of disabilities in the higher education context.
By the start of employment, candidates must have permission to work in the UK, in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. The role is subject to satisfactory references and other pre-employment checks.

Pay: £28 per hour plus £3.38 holiday pay per hour.
