We are seeking a proactive and experienced Mechanical project manager to oversee the delivery of mechanical engineering projects from initial concept through to completion. Based in Chichester, you'll play a key role in managing budgets, coordinating teams, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Responsibilities
* Plan, coordinate, and manage all mechanical aspects of projects from inception to handover
* Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and delivery
* Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource planning
* Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
* Monitor project progress and produce regular status reports for stakeholders
* Ensure quality assurance and adherence to industry standards and client requirements
* Manage procurement of mechanical materials and services
* Support the tendering process, including reviewing drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
Qualifications
* Proven experience in project management within a mechanical engineering or building services environment
* Strong knowledge of mechanical systems such as HVAC, piping, and plant equipment
* Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g. MS Project, AutoCAD, etc.)
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable
* SMSTS or equivalent Health & Safety qualifications
* Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CIBSE, IMechE)
* Experience in managing multiple concurrent projects
