Machine Preparation Centre EngineerLocation: ImminghamContract: Full-time, Permanent We are a well-established international distribution business specialising in machinery and trucks for industries including construction, material handling, recycling, and transport. With decades of heritage and a strong global presence, we combine experience with a modern, agile approach. We are currently looking for a Machine Preparation Centre Engineer to join our team in Immingham. This is a hands-on role focused on preparing, inspecting, and ensuring machinery is ready for delivery to the highest standards of safety and quality. Key Responsibilities
o Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and machine preparation
o Fit attachments and extras such as buckets, guards, couplers, radios, and cameras
o Ensure all checks are completed in line with inspection and extras documentation
o Identify and report any additional work required
o Install software updates where applicable
o Accurately complete job records and input data in real time
o Maintain a clean, organised, and professional working environment
o Care for tools and equipment, reporting any defects
o Work in line with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
o Support team members and assist with training where required
o Attend training courses to maintain and develop technical skills
o Work overtime when necessary to meet business needs
About You
o Qualified in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Mechanics or similar (e.g. NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds)
o Experience working with heavy plant machinery, including hydraulics and electrical systems
o Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
o Able to work both independently and as part of a team
o Organised, reliable, and detail-focused
o Confident handling and operating heavy machinery
o Basic IT skills (systems, email, technical documents)
o Full UK driving licence preferred
o Welding experience would be advantageous
