High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - SEND Focus
Location: Maidstone. Independent School - Mixed Primary & Secondary Age Groups. Start Date: ASAP. Contract: Until End of Term (with potential for extension).
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive independent school in Maidstone, working across both primary and secondary age groups. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality classroom support across a range of subjects and age groups.
* Deliver targeted 1:1 support to a secondary-aged student with Down syndrome, promoting independence and engagement.
* Assist in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities tailored to individual needs.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to implement EHCPs and personalised strategies.
* Support behaviour management and emotional wellbeing in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Qualifications
* HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly Down syndrome.
* Confidence working across both primary and secondary age ranges.
* Strong communication skills and a proactive, flexible approach.
* Available to start immediately and commit until at least the end of term.
