Offer description

The Role

We are looking for a Community Hub Co-ordinator to sustain, grow and run the Marlborough Road Community Hub. The hub is a welcoming and inclusive place where school families and residents can meet, access support, and act on things that matter to them to feel connected, supported, and empowered to shape the places where they live.

This is a community focused leadership role. You will work closely with the Senior Youth and Community Development Lead for Marlborough Road and Dukesgate Community Hubs, colleagues at Marlborough Road Academy, your equivalent at Dukesgate Hub, United Communities, and local partners. Together, you will ensure the hub reflects local priorities and builds on the strengths already in the community.

You will lead by supporting others to lead. This includes encouraging residents, volunteers, and partners to develop ideas and take ownership of activities, while you provide coordination, structure, and support to help the hub thrive.

You will also be responsible for planning and running the hub’s work. This includes coordinating programmes, deepening current partnerships, managing bookings and tracking impact. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining a social media presence on behalf of the hub, in line with United Communities protocols. The role is flexible by nature and includes some evening and weekend work, reflecting when community activity happens.

By joining us, you’ll become part of a national network of school linked youth and community practitioners, committed to nurturing belonging, building trust, and creating the conditions for communities to shape their own future. Our ethos is simple: we believe in the power of community to bring out the best in everyone.

About You

We are looking for a confident and collaborative leader who cares deeply about communities and enjoys working with others.

You will bring:

* A commitment to asset‑based community development, with experience or a strong interest in this approach
* Experience of building positive relationships, leading projects, managing competing priorities, and meeting deadlines
* Experience of working with a wide range of people, including senior colleagues, partner organisations, children, young people, families, and residents
* Experience in education, youth, or community settings, with an understanding of the importance of local context
* Strong emotional intelligence, with the ability to build trust and credibility with both residents and local leaders
* Clear written, verbal communication and digital skills, and the ability to influence and negotiate in collaborative settings
* The ability to turn ideas into practical plans and see them through from start to finish
* Confidence working across organisations, including supporting and coordinating volunteers
* Curiosity, openness, and a willingness to learn, using feedback and evidence to adapt your work to changing community needs

You will also understand the importance of safeguarding. You will feel comfortable working to support the long‑term sustainability of the hub.

Rewards and Benefits

* Competitive salary
* Membership of the United Communities Network
* Contributory pension scheme
* 26 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
* Occupational sick pay
* Competitive maternity, paternity, and adoption benefits
* Group Life Insurance Scheme
* Westfield Health cash plan and access to a wide range of employee benefits
* Tailored Continuous Professional Development options that will be tailored to your needs
* Openness to flexible working, with regular conversations encouraged to support work‑life balance
