Games Workshop has an exciting opportunity for a Desktop Publishing Designer to join our Translation team to ensure the design and layout of all localised Games Workshop products are fit for purpose.
Conscientious and with meticulous attention to detail, you’ll be responsible for managing a range of tasks from PDF approvals for printed publications and downloads, to setting typesetting and desktop publishing standards. We’ll look to you to ensure accuracy and consistency in design and layout as you assist in implementing translation amendments and will be responsible for final checks of InDesign files before handover.
Dedicated and resilient, you’ll look to develop a deep understanding of historical and contemporary publishing trends and to use knowledge gained to improve processes and product standards. You’ll provide localised desktop publishing for all stages of the design process, working closely with the design team lead for schedules and priorities to ensure all projects are delivered on time and to the highest standard.
Creative and highly organised, you’ll use your understanding of the Games Workshop range to get the best solutions for our products and packaging. We’ll look to you to guide and develop the visual design for Games Workshop localised products as you’ll work closely with the games design team to provide timely graphical and layout solutions to enhance the user experience.
Responsibilities
* Manage PDF approvals for printed publications and downloads.
* Set and maintain typesetting and desktop publishing standards.
* Ensure accuracy and consistency in design and layout, implementing translation amendments.
* Perform final checks of InDesign files before handover.
* Develop a deep understanding of publishing trends to improve processes and product standards.
* Provide localised desktop publishing throughout the design process.
* Collaborate with design team lead for schedules and priorities.
* Guide and develop visual design for localised products, working with the games design team.
Qualifications
* Primary responsibility for French and German products, with excellent English and at least French or German proficiency; other languages are advantageous.
* Proficient experience in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) is essential.
* Experience with CAT Tools and API integration.
* Experience in desktop publishing (DTP) design and layout for print and digital content in translation and localisation.

Location: This role is a fully remote role, which can be based from anywhere in the UK, France or Germany.
