The Role and About You This day shift role offers the chance to make a visible difference every day by helping prepare trains for service in a busy London depot. As a Train Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety, ensuring trains are ready for passengers each day. You will carry out a mix of interior and exterior cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, seating, windows, toilets, and high-touch areas, as well as supporting depot operations and occasional CET servicing. The role is based in a safety-critical environment and requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work well as part of a team. Full training and safety briefings are provided to support you from day one. You will work Monday to Saturday from 9:00am to 4:00pm, with one Saturday and one Sunday worked every four weeks. The role averages around 35 hours per week, with overtime available at management discretion. At times, you may work up to 13 consecutive days followed by extended rest periods, allowing you to maximise both earnings and time off. Flexibility to cover additional shifts when required is beneficial. Pay rates are £13.85 per hour for standard hours, £20.78 per hour for overtime and rest days, and £24.24 per hour for Sundays. After 12 weeks, pay increases in line with AWR regulations. Successful contractors are often offered permanent positions, making this a strong long-term opportunity.
