9-10 months contract with a local authority Job Purpose Lead Professionals is one of the teams responsible for the provision of the statutory homeless service at London Borough. For the majority of homeless clients, it is the first point of contact for those approaching the Housing Options Service. You will work alongside colleagues to meet the council’s obligations under Housing Act 1996 as amended by Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. Key Duties/Accountabilities Be the first point of contact for own client portfolio in providing a full housing management service to homeless households living in temporary accommodation. Act as a contact point for landlords in the management and provision of temporary accommodation. Resolve disputes between landlord and tenant, as necessary, including monitoring progress on works and ensuring a timely response to disrepair issues. Essential Experience Required Demonstrable experience of working with customers giving advice within a housing or similar service. Experience of managing a housing patch or caseload covering at least one of the following areas: Tenancy management, Property management, Income management. Essential Qualification Required Knowledge of relevant Landlord and Tenant Legislation, Family and Immigration law, welfare and housing benefits. Knowledge of the Children Act and Community Care Act, and associated case law as they relate to the Council’s duties to homeless households. Additional Information Working hours: 35 hours per week The role is office based. DBS is required for the role. The role closes on 29th July 2025, apply ASAP.
