Manufacturing Engineer - Lean / Six Sigma / PLC

Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 + Excellent Benefits
Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm Monday to Thursday | 8:30am-1:30pm Friday (Days)
Holidays: 33 days including Bank Holidays

Due to continued business expansion, we are seeking a talented and driven Manufacturing Engineer to join a growing plastics-based manufacturing business. This is a fantastic opportunity to hit the ground running in a company that actively supports career progression and internal development.
Reporting directly to the Technical Director (with exposure to the Manufacturing Director), you will play a key role in driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and manufacturing performance.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Lead and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives
Apply Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt preferred) methodologies
Drive Kaizen and Continuous Improvement activities
Support PLC programming and process optimisation
Deliver OPEX improvements using tools such as:
5S
Value Stream Mapping
Root Cause Analysis
Continuous Improvement frameworks
Support new product introduction (NPI) and product launches
Improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost performance
🎓 Experience & Qualifications
Engineering degree or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
3-5 years' experience within a regulated industry
Background in plastics manufacturing
Experience within medical devices highly desirable
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence tools
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt advantageous
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
