Advance Automated Systems is a leading specialist in the design, manufacture, and installation of conveyor and automated systems. With continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Site & Service Engineer to join our expanding team.
About the Role
As a Senior Site & Service Engineer, you will play a key role in the installation, commissioning, and servicing of conveyor and automation systems at customer sites across the UK. This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. You will often act as the senior engineer on site, providing guidance to other team members and representing the company with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, commission, and service conveyors and automated machinery at customer sites
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond to breakdown call-outs
* Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues
* Work from technical drawings, specifications, and site documentation
* Supervise and support junior engineers and contractors on site where required
* Ensure compliance with health & safety standards, site rules, and company procedures
* Provide clear communication and progress updates to customers and project managers
* Participate in the company's on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support when required
* Contribute to continuous improvement in service delivery and engineering best practice
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a mechanical/service engineer, ideally within conveyors, automation, or special-purpose machinery
* Strong hands-on skills in mechanical fitting and assembly, with knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
* Ability to fault-find and carry out basic electrical work (advantageous)
* Comfortable working on customer sites, including travel and occasional overnight stays
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
* Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
* Excellent communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach
* Full UK driving licence (essential)
