Acute Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist
This post focuses on the implementation and delivery of Acute Diagnostic Oncology (ADO) pathways from external trusts by early intervention and support for patients with a new cancer diagnosis. To provide professional and clinical leadership and expertise in acute oncology and upper GI cancers, acting as a resource for education and training. To provide early input of specialist nursing care to oncology patients.
Responsibilities
* Faster and better care of patients presenting with complications from radiotherapy and systemic anti-cancer treatments (early recognition, better treatment, early discharge).
* Faster and better care of patients with complications of cancer (early recognition, better treatment, rapid referral back to appropriate specialty).
