(SEN) Primary School Teaching Assistant – Year 5 ADHD Support

Supply Desk are currently seeking an enthusiastic, caring and patient educator to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with ADHD. This role is within a primary school in the Kings Langley area, where an understanding of diverse values and backgrounds are integral to the school’s vibrant and successful culture.
The ideal candidate will have strong relationship-building skills and an understanding of ADHD and associated learning needs. Behaviour management will be a key part of the role day-to-day, and understanding the pupil’s individual needs, whilst promoting the school’s rules and expectations, will be an integral part of the successful candidate’s role.
Key responsibilities:
• Providing 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with ADHD
• Supporting the pupil to remain focused, engaged and on task during lessons
• Tracking and reporting the pupil’s progression
• Liaising with parents/carers to deliver feedback
• Managing behaviour and promoting positive choices
• Supporting emotional regulation and calming strategies
• Encouraging participation in classroom activities
• Managing pupil and school boundaries
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
Role Requirements:
• Knowledge/Experience of supporting children with ADHD
• Primary school experience (Desirable)
• Behaviour management skills
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Passion for education
• Knowledge of safeguarding
