Band 6 Diagnostic CT Radiographer working in Radiotherapy
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 diagnostic radiographer to join our small therapeutic radiographer CT team! Working in the oncology setting, this post will be working as part of the radiotherapy simulation team, scanning patients for the purpose of planning radiotherapy treatments.
This post is ideal for an HCPC diagnostic radiographer who has worked in the NHS, is clinically experienced in CT scanning and cannulation trained, is able to adapt to a radically different working environment and is an innovative thinker.
In radiotherapy you will work as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team, working alongside therapeutic radiographers, clinical oncologists, trainees and also physicist colleagues.
As a unique role, the skills relative to radiotherapy working will all be taught but applicants must already be both competent and confident in CT scanning. It would also be useful to have a basic understanding of how radiotherapy processes differ to diagnostic CT, with informal enquiries very much encouraged.
The CT hours are 8.45am – 5pm. This post will contribute to the weekend on-call rota required for emergency patients (9am – 5pm only).
This can be a fixed-term or secondment opportunity.
