Public Protection Partnership PPP is a shared environmental heath, licensing and trading standards service for Bracknell Forest and West Berkshire Councils.
The role covers all the licenses, registrations, permits and similar consents undertaken by the Public Protection Partnership in relation to licensing, trading standards and environmental health.
We’re looking for a Lead Licensing Officer who would be the service lead in policy areas relating to the licensing function.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Developing and managing delivery projects in line with service priorities.
* Working with licence holders and trade bodies to ensure that they are aware of their obligations and to maintain a constructive working relationship between the licensing authority and license holders.
* To carry out inspections of premises and other relevant locations in relation to licensing and registrations as and when required.
* Ensure all documentation associated with license applications is prepared and processed in a timely manner.
* To respond to complaints and process service requests relating to the application of license/registration schemes.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience of working within a local authority licensing department and a strong understanding of current licensing legislation including the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, Street Trading, Scrap Metal and Sex Entertainment Licences.
* The ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
* The ability to apply legal knowledge to resolve problems and willingness to lead and undertake inspections, investigations and operations.
