The successful candidate is expected to take an active role across all stages of a project providing cost intelligence services. Working on large-scale infrastructure and capital programmes you will have an opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients including high-profile projects, working alongside other construction professionals in multi-disciplinary teams. You will need to be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
Here's what you'll do
1. Support and deliver commissions in area of efficiency & value identification, assurance & continuous improvement, construction economics research & analysis, plus general cost intelligence services.
2. Have experience in one or more of the following technical disciplines:
3. Cost Model and / or Cost Estimate development
4. Statistical Analysis to support benchmarking and efficiency exercises
5. Business Cases development and Cost Benefit Analysis
6. Defining business models
7. Identify cost reduction opportunities through benchmarking and efficiency exercises
8. Possess analysis capabilities which be applied to client and industry datasets to create data-driven solutions.
9. Work with the leadership team to mature and develop service offerings with practical and viable solutions for our clients.
10. Provide assistance to senior management in the preparation of technical and financial proposals
11. Ensure effective delivery through project and financial management for complex assignments.
12. Maintain high quality professional outputs.
As a Consultant at AECOM, you will have exposure to many of the above tasks, utilising your sector knowledge, skills and experience, and benefiting from exposure to new areas of study and research. You will be responsible for deliverables within your projects and initiatives, driving innovation with the support of colleagues.
You will be technically excellent, providing leading solutions to clients that solve problems in an efficient and effective manner The successful candidate(s) will work collaboratively to deliver a range of projects, as well as supporting senior leaders in the practice and wider Business Unit to grow the practice.

Qualifications

Here’s what we’re looking for:
13. Comfortable writing technical reports and preparing presentations
14. Comfortable in problem solving and developing novel solutions to meet client needs
15. Demonstrable experience and/or relevant qualification in one or more of the following: cost modelling, cost estimation, business case development, cost-benefit analysis or statistical analysis
16. Knowledge and interest in the infrastructure sector and its ongoing developments
17. Strong capability in the Microsoft Suite of products
18. Coding language knowledge would be a bonus. Python, R etc
19. Effective decision making with strong verbal and written communication
20. Working knowledge of database development
21. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
22. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and confidence to work with a range of clients and consultants
23. Background working in a consultancy environment or contracting experience in a relevant discipline.
24. Proven experience working on large scale infrastructure projects in Transport, Water, Energy and other relevant sectors
25. Defence experience would be advantageous
26. Buy-in to achieving deadlines set by clients and managers
27. Take pride in quality and appearance of clear record of error checking and demonstration of validity in results
28. Able to produce auditable outputs with client deliverables
29. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline (min 2:2)
30. Member of relevant industry body such as the RICS, APM or Controls & Skills Authority (Formerly ACostE) with supporting accreditation/certifications.
