Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for our client based in Lanarkshire. Role Overview This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused and detail-driven Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established business within the fit-out and construction sector. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the financial management of projects from inception to completion, ensuring best value, cost control, and effective contractual administration across a range of dynamic and varied works. Key Responsibilities Manage all costs relating to construction and fit-out projects, from initial estimates through to final accounts. Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities. Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to achieve cost efficiencies. Monitor project progress and keep track of any variations that may affect costs. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting. Prepare and present interim valuations, final accounts, and project cost reports. Assess subcontractor applications and process payments in line with contractual terms. Assist in the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring competitive and compliant pricing. Support the project delivery team in maintaining cost control throughout the life cycle of each project. Skills & Experience Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction, fit-out, or refurbishment sectors. Strong understanding of construction contracts, tendering procedures, and cost management principles. Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software (e.g. ConQuest, Causeway, or similar). Effective communicator with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. Capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team. HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline is preferred. Offering Full-time, permanent position based in Lanarkshire.
