The Role
Balfor Recruitment is currently recruiting compassionate and dedicated Young People’s Support Workers to support young people within supported accommodation services across Coventry and Nuneaton.
This role involves supporting young people aged 16–25 who may be experiencing homelessness, emotional wellbeing needs, trauma, or additional support needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping young people develop independence, build confidence, and work towards positive life outcomes within a safe, structured, and supportive environment.

Shift Patterns
1. 7:45am – 8:15pm
2. 7:45pm – 8:15am
Flexibility across weekdays, weekends, and night shifts is required.
Key Responsibilities
3. Provide high-quality, person-centred support to young people within supported accommodation settings
4. Build positive, professional, and trusting relationships with young people
5. Support young people in developing independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking, attending appointments, education, and daily routines
6. Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, safety, and positive behaviour
7. Support access to education, training, employment opportunities, and community-based services
8. Maintain accurate records, daily logs, and incident reports in line with organisational and regulatory requirements
9. Follow safeguarding policies and procedures and promote the welfare of young people at all times
10. Support behaviour management and use appropriate de-escalation techniques where required
11. Work collaboratively with colleagues, social workers, and external professionals to support positive outcomes
Essential Requirements
12. Minimum of 6 months’ experience supporting young people within supported accommodation, homelessness services, residential care, mental health services, or similar support environments
13. Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and professional boundaries
14. Experience supporting young people with emotional wellbeing or additional behavioural support needs
15. Training in MAPA, PMVA, MAYBO, CPI, or similar intervention approaches is desirable
16. Medication administration training is desirable
17. Flexible approach to shift work, including evenings, weekends, and waking nights
18. Strong communication, teamwork, and record-keeping skills
19. Professional, reliable, and compassionate approach to support work
20. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK
