About the Position
HGV Driver/Loader
Are you an experienced HGV driver looking for a new opportunity? We are seeking a skilled Driver/Loader (HGV) to join a reputable client on a temporary contract basis. If you have a valid HGV license and a proactive approach to your work, this could be the perfect role for you!
As a HGV Driver/Loader, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while assisting with loading and unloading as needed. This position demands a reliable, safety-conscious individual with a good understanding of HGV operations. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
Candidate Responsibilities – Driver/Loader (HGV)
Drive HGV vehicles: Safely operate heavy goods vehicles for refuse and recycling collections.
Operate collection equipment: Use both automatic and manual equipment to empty bins and load waste onto the vehicle.
Collect waste: Empty and move wheeled bins, sacks, and bulky items from properties in all weather conditions.
Sort and load recyclables: Collect, sort, and load materials like glass, paper, cans, and textiles.
Supervise crew: Provide direction and supervision to a small team of loaders or other drivers during duties.
Follow routes efficiently and adapt to any unforeseen conditionsCandidate Requirements – Driver/Loader (HGV)
Valid HGV license (Cat C or above)
Proven experience as a HGV driver with loader duties
Good understanding of road safety and traffic regulations
Ability to handle manual loading/unloading tasks
Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
Strong communication skills
Capable of working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
