Senior Transport Planner Location: Office-based Lisburn Salary: £35,000 £50,000 per annum Job Type: Full-time or Part-time About the Role Due to continued company growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Transport Planner to join our family-run business. This is a key role within the organisation, working closely with the Operations Manager and supporting the management of 34 staff members. You will be responsible for planning and coordinating transport operations across Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland, and the UK, managing a mixed fleet including Luton vans, 12-tonne rigid vehicles, and articulated lorries. Working Hours Full-Time: Monday to Friday Part-Time : Monday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Friday Occasional evening and weekend work may be required Key Responsibilities Plan and coordinate deliveries, relocations, and collections of office furniture, specialist equipment, pallets, and parcels Allocate loads effectively based on vehicle size, weight, and geographical location Organise and book ferry sailings to ensure delivery and collection schedules are met Monitor vehicle movements and respond to delays or operational changes Update the companys online platform with job progress and Proof of Delivery (POD) uploads Manage drivers, including route planning, load details, sailings, and daily communication Ensure driver hours comply with Road Traffic and Working Time Regulations Provide day-to-day staff management and support Liaise directly with customers regarding job updates, vehicle specifications, and transport requirements Work closely with management to ensure clear communication of job and staff updates Assist with loading and unloading vehicles when required, involving manual handling Skills & Qualities Required Strong organisational and planning skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently Excellent customer service skills Proven staff management experience Strong problem-solving ability Clear and confident communication skills Requirements Valid Driving Licence Class 1 licence (desirable) Driver CPC Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Company pension scheme Free on-site parking
