Site Technician (Protection & Control)

What will you be doing?
• On-site assembly and wiring of protection and control systems
• Cable installation, glanding and termination (paired, multicore, copper and fibre)
• Mechanical assembly of cubicles, frameworks, trays and racking
• Electrical safety testing prior to commissioning
• Point-to-point checks, insulation resistance, HV withstand and earth bond testing
• Power-up, fusing and functional checks
• Supporting site managers, supervisors and commissioning engineers
• Assisting with test rigs, inspections and quality documentation
• Completing isolations and working on test rigs when appointed
Where will you be doing it?
• Working for a well-established UK systems integrator delivering protection, control and automation solutions into regulated energy environments, including transmission, distribution and power generation projects
• Staffordshire base when not on site, with UK-wide travel to customer locations
What will you need?
• Minimum 1 year experience as a site-based wire person
• Experience with E, C & I installation on substations or similar environments
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schedules
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel and work away
