This role offers the opportunity to work in this field. You may be asked to assist on other matters dealt with in the Dispute Resolution team as required. You will manage a varied caseload and deliver practical, commercially focused advice while developing your expertise within a supportive and well-regarded team.
About the Dispute Resolution Team

We advise on a wide range of contentious matters and pride ourselves on building long-term client relationships, enabling us to provide pragmatic, tailored advice.
The Role

You will work on complex and often sensitive cases, requiring a thoughtful, client‑focused approach alongside strong technical expertise. Collaborating closely with experienced colleagues, you will help deliver clear, practical advice tailored to each client’s individual circumstances.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to deepen your expertise in a specialist area, within a supportive and collaborative team environment that promotes knowledge‑sharing and professional development.
What You’ll Be Doing
Managing a varied caseload of contentious trust and probate matters, including:
* Will disputes (validity challenges, lack of capacity, undue influence)
* Inheritance Act (1975) claims
* Trust disputes and breach of trustee duty claims
* Handling matters from initial instruction through to resolution (including ADR, mediation, and litigation where required)
* Advising clients with sensitivity and clarity in often complex and emotionally charged situations
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships
* Supporting business development activities and contributing to team growth
What We’re Looking For
* A qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEX) with 3 – 8 years of PQE
* Proven experience in contentious probate/trust disputes
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and client care skills, with a strong commitment to delivering outstanding client service
* Strong litigation skills with solid knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules
* Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
* Commercially aware, with a proactive and pragmatic approach to resolving disputes
* Strong team player with excellent drafting and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential)
* Experience of mediation and alternative dispute resolution
