Job Summary
The Workshop Supervisor reports directly to the Workshop Manager and will be responsible for providing engineering support to his team. This role encompasses all engineering-related duties to ensure the garage operates smoothly and efficiently on a day-to-day basis. They will support their shift engineers and provide guidance in making sound decisions that minimise mechanical lost mileage.
Main Responsibilities
* Oversee the team planning and prioritising work and delegating tasks.
* Identify and order spare parts, ensuring delegated tasks can be completed.
* Oversee the team to ensure efficient workflow management.
* Oversee the team to ensure quality and high-repair standards.
* Oversee the team to ensure that repair procedures are followed.
* Carry out quality checks and record them in the appropriate location.
* Ensure the team understand technical bulletins and the use of diagnostic equipment.
* Checks and manages workshop equipment and tools in line with repair procedures.
* Oversee the team to ensure engineering hygiene and cleanliness.
* Is the first-line Supervisor between engineers and the Workshop Manager.
* Notify the Workshop Manager of any additional faults or necessary repairs.
* Escalate technical issues to the workshop manager as appropriate.
* Promotes and supervises SHEQ.
* Completes all paperwork/Digital content in line with legal requirements.
* Attend internal and external training sessions as required.
* Foster productive working relationships with our customers.
* Be prepared to take hands-on approach when required.
Essential Criteria
* NVQ3 or equivalent in relevant trade discipline.
* Understanding of O Licence requirement.
* Experience of mandatory, legal paperwork associated with bus operations in the London environment.

Hours of work
40 hours per week, 7-4-7-3 shift pattern.
