Scope and Responsibilities
The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) to manufacturing (or bottling) and all downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered. Operations also play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management.
Manufacturing Engineering provides innovative solutions to Process, Re‑Engineering and Continuous Improvement projects or issues with the Site Services team supporting operations in achieving required performance levels of plant and site services equipment to meet business continuity, statutory compliance and stakeholder expectations.
Unique Contribution
The Site Technical Lead will be responsible for technical support in site services to achieve required performance levels. You will also take the lead in technical maintenance and diagnostic repairs of business‑critical assets and directly support the Site Technical Services Manager at peak operational times with control of contractors.
* Technical Expertise – act as the technical expert and escalation point for complex repairs and breakdowns of critical assets.
* Maintenance – lead and improve maintenance plans to maximise asset performance, life, and integrity; support high‑voltage electrical maintenance and asset replacement programs; ensure timely completion of planned preventative maintenance and accurate reporting via CMMS.
* Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration – oversee contractor activities for servicing, fault‑finding, repairs, and testing of mechanical and electrical equipment; collaborate with stakeholders to resolve recurring issues.
* Continuous Improvement – liaise with external suppliers and contractors as part of continuous improvement plans for optimal use of external resources.
* Health & Safety – champion health and safety, participating in forums and investigations.
Who You’ll Be Working With
Internally, you’ll collaborate with the wider Engineering team as well as other areas of Manufacturing, including Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain, Bottling, Vatting, Quality and Health and Safety.
Externally, you will collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure delivery of services to the highest standard, and maintain relationships with external regulatory and professional bodies, trade associations, emergency services and local authorities.
Your Blend of Talent
* Have a recognised electrical, mechanical, or building services qualification.
* Have experience in a similar role with a strong background in Site/Building Services and facilities management.
* Be multi‑skilled in mechanical and electrical systems with high standards of workmanship.
* Hold a safety qualification (e.g., IOSH) and be experienced in Safe Systems of Work, permits, and contractor management.
* Demonstrate proven leadership in supervising technical teams and driving continuous improvement.
* Be skilled in Root Cause Analysis, training others, and using CMMS systems.
