Team Manager

We are in search of a dedicated and empathetic Team Manager for an ongoing fixed-term contract to lead our clients team in providing vital assistance to individuals grappling with severe and enduring mental health challenges. As the manager overseeing the floating support service, your role will be instrumental in stabilising lives and facilitating access to essential services for individuals who do not fit easily into conventional support systems.
Responsibilities:
Lead and guide a team of support workers in delivering practical, emotional, and advocacy support to individuals aged 18–65 living within Oxfordshire and facing severe and enduring mental health needs.
Coordinate assistance for individuals dealing with complex and diverse needs, encompassing mental and physical health, finances, accommodation, substance use, learning requirements, and vulnerabilities.
Ensure support is extended to individuals irrespective of their housing situation, including those experiencing homelessness or sofa surfing.
Assist individuals in enhancing their mental well-being, fostering recovery, and nurturing self-confidence and independence.
Provide guidance and aid in critical areas such as housing, finances, benefits, and debt management.
Facilitate the establishment of connections within the local community to combat isolation and loneliness.
Advocate on behalf of individuals to ensure their voices are heard and their rights are respected.
Offer information and assistance to enable individuals to engage in local communities, including accessing employment, education, volunteering, and training opportunities.
Collaborate with individuals to develop and refine practical life skills.
Support individuals in making positive lifestyle choices, including promoting exercise, healthy eating, and smoking cessation.
Accompany individuals to court hearings, assessments, and tribunals, offering support and guidance throughout the process.
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience managing a team of floating support workers
Demonstrated experience working with individuals with complex needs, preferably within mental health or social services settings.
Thorough understanding of mental health issues, social determinants of health, and relevant community resources.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trusting relationships.
Display empathy, patience, and resilience when assisting individuals facing significant challenges.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of clients.
Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is preferred.
