As a Controls and Automation Engineer, you will implement new procedures to perform a variety of engineering work in the design and start-up of PLC controlled systems for material handling and robotic welding equipment.
To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:
Assist in defining controls architecture, platform and functionality
Design and develop new machine controls including robotic, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, vision and safety systems
Develop and test controls performance through modelling, bench and application testing
Support design, selection, and integration of electronic components and equipment.
To apply for this Controls and Automation Engineer role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:
At least 4 years related work experience in programming PLC and other control devices used in material handling and other heavy industrial manufacturing equipment
Hands-on experience working on automation or electromechanical systems
Understanding of servo, stepper, or VFD motor control techniques and implementation.
