Our client is the world's largest general sales agent for the aviation industry, based in Hounslow. They're looking for a detail-focused Reservations Agent to join their growing team and manage flight bookings, customer communications, and revenue opportunities for airline clients across the UK and beyond.
Position Overview
As a Reservations Agent, you'll play a key role in managing flight reservations and booking operations for airline customers. You'll plan flights, produce accurate booking lists, and track performance against yield, budget, and booking targets. Your work directly impacts revenue generation and customer satisfaction, as you'll liaise between sales teams, airline customers, and internal departments to ensure timely, accurate information and smooth operations. This role combines customer service excellence with commercial awareness and operational precision.
Responsibilities
* Plan flights and produce booking lists for airline customers, prioritising yield, budget, and flown-as-booked targets
* Make accurate bookings in airline reservation systems and company operating systems with high precision
* Respond to all email queries within one hour maximum, resolving customer issues professionally and escalating when necessary
* Provide accurate post-flight reports to customers and chase offloads within agreed timescales
* Upsell services and select correct rate classes to maximise revenue and prevent revenue leakage
* Answer incoming calls within three rings, maintaining a positive, friendly, and professional approach to all customers
* Maintain 100% copies of manifests, air waybills, and customs paperwork, providing hard copies to airlines on time
* Supply external sales teams with monthly allocation information to facilitate timely commercial agreements
* Provide feedback to account managers and sales planning managers on market conditions to inform pricing decisions
* Conduct telesales activity to gain new business on light flights and chase final bookings before flight departure
* Maintain an accurate register of air waybills distributed to the market and complete stock request forms promptly
* Represent the company professionally at customer events and with airline contacts, maintaining high standards at all times
Requirements
* Proven experience in reservations, booking systems, or airline operations (or similar customer-facing administrative role)
* Must have previous airline or general Sales Agent Experience
* Strong accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when working with multiple booking systems and customer data
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to respond quickly to customer queries
* Commercial awareness and understanding of revenue management principles and sales targets
* Proficiency in using multiple computer systems and booking platforms
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines consistently
* Professional telephone manner and customer service experience
* Strong organisational skills and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
* Willingness to follow company processes and maintain professional standards in appearance and conduct
* Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a tidy, professional working environment
