Practice Manager – Primary Care Greater Manchester

Compass Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and high-performing GP Practice in Oldham, as they seek to recruit an experienced and dynamic Practice Manager. This is a confidential vacancy, ideal for a forward-thinking leader with a proven background in primary care or healthcare operations.
As Practice Manager, you will lead on all aspects of operational delivery across the practice – ensuring excellent patient services, strong financial performance, effective staff management, and regulatory compliance. Full operational responsibility for practice performance, staffing, compliance and patient access
Financial and budgetary oversight including forecasting, reporting, and contract compliance (QOF, PCN DES, enhanced services)
HR leadership: recruitment, training, appraisals, and employee relations
Strategic development and business planning in collaboration with the Partners
Oversight of CQC readiness and adherence to NHS contractual obligations
Leading projects across clinical, digital, or service delivery areas
Management of IT systems, premises, and facilities
Engagement with external stakeholders including PCNs, ICBs, and other healthcare partners
Must have experience in Primary Care (PCN)
Strong HR, financial and operational leadership experience
Knowledge of NHS structures, QOF, CQC, and enhanced services
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Ability to manage performance and develop high-performing teams
Experience leading service change or transformation projects
