Job Description
Build on your nuclear safety case experience in nuclear engineering, risk management, and emergency preparedness. Support a highly regulated Licensee in Cumbria, based in the North West with flexible working arrangements.
Work as part of a multi-person team, supporting and developing consultancy services in Safety Case, emergency preparedness, and Security & Resilience. Engage in projects that help clients manage hazards and refine risk management capabilities, making a tangible difference.
Qualifications
* STEM background with relevant education and experience, including degrees or equivalent credible routes.
* Safety case experience relevant to nuclear decommissioning, waste management, or similar fields.
Key Skills and Experience
* Understanding of nuclear safety cases.
* Experience or interest in analyzing Radiological Consequence Assessments and adapting them for specific assessments.
* Experience in preparing technical reports.
* Applying safety and risk engineering processes to identify hazards, author safety cases, and manage risks.
Desirable Skills
* Hazard identification and management techniques (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA, FTA, Event Tree Analysis, Hazard Logs).
* Knowledge of REPPIR (Radiation Emergency Preparedness and Public Information Regulations).
* Resilience & Emergency Preparedness.
* Severe Accident Analysis.
* Cyber Security.
* Nuclear Security Assessments.
