Ridgeway Primary Academy is seeking to appoint an Early Years Practitioner/Nursery Nurse to work within our Sunny Days Nursery at Ridgeway Primary Academy and to take on responsibility as room leader in the Pre-School room. Sunny Days Nursery provides full day care provision between 7.00 am – 6.00 pm for children aged six weeks to five years. The Nursery is open all year (except bank holidays and a week between Christmas and New Year). Key Responsibilities To provide the highest levels of care and education for all children attending the settings. To take on role of Room Leader and to implement the EYFS curriculum and welfare requirements for pre-school (in the first instance) Lead planning for the EYFS curriculum for pre-school and maintain accurate children’s records Assume responsibility for the setting in the absence of the managers when required to do so. Support, mentor and supervise room staff in their day-to-day duties and monitor their paperwork including planning and learning journeys on a regular basis. Provide a positive learning environment within the pre-school room, that offers choice, experiences, independence and meets all the children needs. Ensure that the welfare needs of the children are met and that Food Safety Regulations are complied with Work as part of a team to ensure the Primitas values are maintained Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, parents and carers We are looking for someone who: Has a positive attitude and creative ideas that inspire children to learn Is passionate about providing high standards of care and education to meet the individual needs of our children. Has good verbal and written communication skills Has a commitment to continuing professional development Holds an NVQ L3 in Childcare Work well as a member of a team Can demonstrate current or previous experience of working with children 0-5 years.
